I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC)specializing in working with teens and adults, dedicated to facilitating positive change in the lives of individuals. With a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University, coupled with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the same institution, I bring a comprehensive understanding of human behavior and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to my practice. My counseling expertise spans various domains, including substance abuse disorders, career counseling, relapse prevention, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care. Iam proficient in conducting thorough assessments, individual and group therapy, case management, and vocational counseling, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. I utilize a client-centered approach, drawing from counseling theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Multicultural Counseling, and Motivational Interviewing (MI)to empower individuals to achieve their goals. By fostering a supportive and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment, I aim to facilitate self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth. I am passionate about advocating for marginalized populations and promoting social justice within the counseling profession. Through my involvement in professional organizations such as the American Counseling Association and the North Carolina Association of Counselors, I strive to address systemic barriers and disparities that impact access to mental health care. Outside of my professional endeavors, I am deeply family-oriented and cherish spending quality time with my loved ones. I find joy in exploring diverse cuisines, discovering new music, and immersing myself in the beauty of nature. Painting is also a cherished hobby of mine, allowing me to express my creativity and find solace in artistic expression.
